Hi there and welcome to my website.

My name is Mario Messina and I live in Central Victoria, Australia.

As you no doubt have guessed, one of my favourite past-times and passions is "hunting". Mainly with the dogs that I own...

I normally hunt, rabbits, hares and foxes during the cooler months of the year, which are between April and October. From around November to March, the dogs tend to get a bit of a rest from the hunting scene, as this gives them time to recuperate. In this time they are still kept healthy & fit by lots of road walking and free running on our 10 acre property.

I very rarely breed any litters, unless its for my own use. So occasionally there are some surplus pups that I do sell, but these are very few and far between. When I do breed a litter of pups, the parents must have proved themselves to me as worthy hunters, and they must have at least 2 years of hunting experience under their belts.

I feed all my dogs on a natural diet about 95% of the time, most of which is made up of raw meat & bones, along with some cereal, fruit and veggies. A small amount of certain vitamins & minerals also are added to thier meals. I very rarely feed them commercial dog food, but when I do this is of the premium variety. 

Apart from a good diet and exercise routine, I think it is also very important that our dogs are housed correctly. My dogs are kenneled individualy, with their own kennels and runs. They have shade sails to keep the sun out of half of their runs, woodshavings to keep them dry, clean and warm/cool. And a constant supply of fresh water. Their kennels are cleaned out twice a day. And their kennels are raised off the ground.

So as you can see, I take my dogs and my hunting, very seriously...
